Wondering how to get started with the new OpenSciEd high school materials? Want to feel confident navigating the classroom routines, resources, and lessons? Join us for a an in-person or virtual workshop to prepare to implement OpenSciEd High School in your classroom or school. Or are you already teacher OpenSciEd and want to take your learning to the next level?
Together, we will:
explore teaching and learning practices anchored in phenomena that are relevant to local and global communities.
experience lessons as a student and reflect as a teacher.
Consider how the materials can apply to your unique setting and context.
navigate the student- and teacher-facing resources to optimize student engagement and learning.
This workshop is offered for three content areas– Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. You’ll choose one content area on which to focus. You’ll also spend time with the other content areas to consider how the materials fit across disciplines and work together to cultivate equitable science learning throughout high school.
We will work with your school to customize the materials to fit your experience level, desired units, local context, and more.
